Under no circumstances should you draw the dachsund puppy over to the accident to show and scold, chastise or rub his nose in it. Take him in a location where he cannot observe you cleaning it up.

As you own him, it is totally your job to be watchful enough that he is not doing anything obnoxious. So as to be happy your new Dachsund must feel secure about his location in the group.

If you havent come across any accidents within a period of two weeks then the chances are that your dachsund dog has learnt where to go for potty and you may let him go out of the crate during spare time. Again, if you observed an accident, you have misunderstood that your dog is properly taught.

The process for adult dachsund dogs is very much the same. Keep in mind - even dogs who are supposedly entirely housebroken may have several "accidents" as they get familiar to their new environment.

Most of the times, dachsunds have a tendency to show their existence to their opponents by such accidents.

Conversely, an adult dog with seldom require to go out every three hours. A more realistic schedule for an adult dog is upon awaking. Most dogs (like people!) will micturate within a few seconds of awakening. Many will have a bowel movement within minutes of awakening.

Permit the older dog an hour or so to roam in the house. Then out again at lunch and another hour or so of free time. Back in the crate. Out again around dinner time which is usually when the dog will both micturate and defecate once more.

If so, your dog can spend time with the family and see TV or relax with you until the time you go to bed. Bring him out to his potty spot and then back in his crate to sleep. Otherwise, apply the same techniques and schedule using the same spot, the same potty word, the same rewards, etc.

Caring for your dog is a difficult work, but with stability and fondness I have observed cent percent results. Even you can notice the consequences after duration of 3 weeks. When your dog performs the "right" thing, remember to continue your schedule & use lots of praise and prizes (cookies).
